Robinhood plans cryptocurrency gifting feature to expand into crypto - Bloomberg

Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) appears to be developing a feature that will allow users to send cryptocurrency to other users as a gift, Bloomberg reports, citing code found in a beta version of the company's iPhone app. The code indicates that users will be able to send crypto through digital gift card, with the ability to retract it anytime before it's accepted. The digital gift cards can also include messages of up to 180 characters, the article said. The gifting function would expand Robinhood's push into the crypto space. The feature isn't yet available, and a company spokesperson declined to comment to Bloomberg about it. Crypto gifting would be new to Robinhood, but other crypto services, including Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN), already offer such a feature, Bloomberg said. In September, Robinhood (HOOD) was reported to be testing a cryptocurrency wallet feature and crypto transfer feature.
