AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) customers can now buy AMC Theatres digital gift cards with dogecoin (DOGE-USD +4.1%) and other cryptocurrencies using a BitPay Wallet, AMC CEO Adam Aron wrote in a tweet. The move came shortly after Aron asked his Twitter followers if Doge (DOGE-USD) should be accepted for online payments; 68.1% of respondents said "yes, for sure do it." The partnership with BitPay, a bitcoin payment service provider founded in 2011, allows for AMC to accept other cryptos such as ethereum (ETH-USD -0.4%), Litecoin (LTC-USD -0.2%) and bitcoin cash (BCH-USD +3.0%), according to TechStory. Users can purchase the digital gift cards amounting to a maximum of $200 per day using dogecoin (DOGE-USD). AMC shares slide 2.1% in premarket trading.
