Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrencies plunge following FBI seizure

Vertigo3d/iStock via Getty Images Today's FUD is that the FBI's seizure of the Colonial Pipeline ransom (which was paid in bitcoin), means that Bitcoin (BTC-USD) is easily hackable. Of course that's not anywhere close to the case, as Bitcoin OG Adam Back explains, but in a bear market (and Bitcoin/crypto is surely in one), even the hint of bad news is enough to send prices lower. Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and Ethereum (ETH-USD) this morning are both lower by about 10%. Back: "We are early. Most people don't understand details. Until they realize how irresponsibility confused mainstream media is, they are going to get market robbed by misreporting." In other news, there's still plenty of chatter about El Salvador's move to make Bitcoin legal tender within that country.
