Livepeer was established in 2017, by the founders Doug Peltakins and Eric Tang. The duo was not a new name in the broadcast industry. Peltakins is a computer science graduate who also worked as an analyst at Accenture. He has additionally co-founded two more companies before live peer was launched. They include Hyperpublic in 2010 and Wildcard in 2013 which is a web browser and a publishing medium. Eric graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in electrical and computer engineering. He worked as a software developer in Next Jump in 2008. He also worked at Clickable as the product supervisor in the year 2010. Within the year 2010, Hyper public was one of the projects he partnered with Doug Peltakins and later introduced Wildcard since then they have been working on projects together including Livepeer. It is one of the first video streaming networks that is decentralized and governed by Ethereum. it is looking to achieve efficiency, affordability, and secure space for developers to create videos.
