Coinbase inks multi-year partnership deal with NBA - CoinDesk

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) partners with the National Basketball Association ("NBA") on a multi-year deal, the company says, according to CoinDesk. Shares of (COIN +2.7%) rise to its highest level since mid-May following Facebook's (NASDAQ:FB) decision to choose the crypto exchange as its custody partner for a pilot of Novi. The deal extends to the Women's National Basketball Association ("WNBA"), NBA G League, NBA 2K League and USA Basketball, CoinDesk reports. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The move comes just a week after Coinbase (COIN) pushes into the non-fungible token market to make minting and trading NFTs easier, signing up more than 1.35M people for its not-yet-launched NFT platform, as of Oct. 14. "As part of the partnership, we will create interactive experiences to engage with the NBA and WNBA's incredible community and athletes around the world," stated Coinbase CMO Kate Rouch.
