Crypto speculators rush to futures market ahead of SEC decision on bitcoin ETF - WSJ

Speculators flock to buy bitcoin (BTC-USD) futures in anticipation that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will approve four bitcoin (BTC-USD) exchange-traded funds over the next two weeks, the Wall Street Journal reports. Within that time, the SEC may either approve, reject or postpone the proposals of ProShares, Valkyrie Investment, Invesco, and VanEck submitted in August. Recently, the annualized premium on CME (NASDAQ:CME) bitcoin futures prices over bitcoin's (BTC-USD) spot value is 15% vs. the ~7.7% average over the first nine months of 2021, the WSJ notes.
